Dissonance
A full stack clone of Discord implemented with React and Ruby on Rails. Users have CRUD functionality for channels, servers, messages. Implemented websockets to allow for live chat.
Barter
Barter is a full-stack web application where users can trade unwanted items for other items or cash. Implemented with the MERN stack.
Coup
A recreation of the popular card game, Coup. Users play against an AI and have access to four different roles with unique abilities and interactions.
I graduated in June 2021 from Baruch College with a degree in Computer Information Systems. When I initially entered Baruch I was majoring in Finance, however, as I got deeper into the field and it's work I felt it grow increasingly mundane and repetitive.
I felt the desire to make something concrete and dynamic, something that people could share and enjoy. This led me to changing my major to CIS in my sophomore year.
During this time, I was also working as an Operations Associate at a real estate company. While working there I built my skills in organization and personal relations, and I realized how much of our daily processes could be automated, which strengthened my resolve to transition.
Upon graduating I knew that my knowledge base was not deep enough. That's when I made the decision to enroll in App Academy. During my time there I was able to expand my technical skills and meet similar minded people. Over the course of the
intensive 1000+ hour bootcamp, I learned Ruby on Rails, Javascript, React, Redux, MongoDB, Express, NodeJS, and a multitude of others.
Currently, I am looking for opportunites to work as a software engineer.
